First day @ SCIT
Wednesday, June 04, 2014.
I was feeling the billowing breeze on my face and the sunbeams were peeking through the window frames. Eyes half closed I looked at the table watch right beside my head. It was 9:00 am and I took a sigh! Thank God!! Not late.
“M really loving the weather” saying I stood up from my bed and started my day.
I put on my brand new white shirt with black trouser as instructed, shoes neatly polished and my new Armani watch. Checked myself into the mirror couple of times and then headed for breakfast.
All the newly admitted students were in very high spirits. I was excited and anxious too.
I always dreamed of joining a reputed business school. My dream came true when I joined Symbiosis Centre of Information Technology, Pune. After graduation, I wanted to get some work experience and then pursue an MBA. After working for 2 years I decided to quit my job for post-graduation. Many people told me not to leave my job as it can be risky. But I am very happy that I made the right decision to join Symbiosis.
Before Induction and orientation session, I looked around with a mixed feeling of perplexity and joy. The stately building with massive pillars made a deep impression on my mind. The mural walls and the green campus were looking very lively. The students in batches were moving up and down the corridors. The faculties were looking very positive and exchanging greetings with the students.
Coming to the induction session, seniors were volunteering the event. All the guests were welcomed. Lighting of the lamp ceremony was done by our honorable director Dr. R. Raman along with Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director, Symbiosis Society, Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor, SIU and chief guest Mr. Abhilash Verma (Ex. SCITIAN) Director CITRIX. Later on session was conducted by our Director. He started with welcoming and congratulating us for joining the institution plus shared some insights of the college. I thoroughly enjoyed the speech and his delivery was very articulate. He guided us very well by telling our priorities and focus areas for the next two years for leading our life ahead successfully. Not to forget his words “Your parents calling for attending functions is interruption, girl friends are distraction.”
Followed by our Director’s speech Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar and Dr. Rajani Gupte enlighten us by their inspirational and declamatory speech. Ceremony ended with our chief guest Abhilash Verma sharing his college experiences, corporate knowledge and the opportunities coming in various domains of information technology. I would like to thank all generous and charismatic personalities for their time and guidance.
The day ended with the beginning of new friendships. Yes, these friendships are going to last for a lifetime. Similarly, this day is going to remain etched into my mind forever. I went from being excited and anxious, too nervous, and then to calm when I realized that everything was good. I felt a new rhythm of life and returned to hostel with a mixed sense of duty, responsibility and liberty.
Mighty Mighty SCIT!!!!!
