The beginning to a new ending
June 04, 2014 : a day that I was eagerly looking forward to. I was going to begin a new chapter in my life, probably the most important one that would help shape my career path for the years to come. I woke up that morning not knowing how this day would unravel; what was in store for me, what people I would interact with, who would I be living and studying with and so on. My mind was flooded with these questions. I reached Pune at around 10 in the morning. I was accompanied by my parents. The moment I stepped out of the car I was amazed to see the Symbiosis Infotech Campus stand out amongst some of the Big IT firms in the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park.
I entered the main building, collected my ID card and thereafter proceeded to finish my hostel registration formalities. I went to my room and met my roommates. I was glad and happy to see people from varied backgrounds who had come from all over India to pursue to their dream just like me.
After dropping my luggage in the room I proceeded to the auditorium to attend the induction program. The first speech was given by Dr. Raman, our director. It was one of the most unique presentations that I have come across till date. The different stories that he told us, each with a deeper meaning using pictures to depict it was very inspiring indeed. There were addresses by other members of the Symbiosis International University as well. Our alumni, Mr. Abhilash also spoke about his college experience and work life journey till date.
The decision to quit my job and go for a post graduation was perhaps one of the most difficult decisions to make. I am glad to be a part of this prestigious institute and be known as an SCITan. I am looking forward to learning a lot from this experience.
