Career Counselling-Unlock your potential
How would I fit into my dream organisation? WITFM(What is there for me)? What kind of profile would be suitable for me? Should I switch profiles?
These are the questions rolling out in each and every MBA’s mind while thinking about their career. To help students with these questions, SCIT conducted a Guest Lecture on topic “Career Counselling” on 25th December 2015.SCIT was really glad to invite Mr.Swatantra Kumar Gupta, an alumni of 2009-2011 Batch and also founder of Team Martix, to share his valuable insights to the students. He initiated the lecture by sharing his experiences on “Life at SCIT” & “Work Experience”. Students felt free to ask their queries in this lecture-cum-interactive session. He then took the session forward by discussing on an important aspect of information security required in Big4 Corporations. Moreover, he also discussed about the risks associated in an organisation and management of that through security policies.Huge availability of services on internet being the main reason behind this increased focus on risk management. He further highlighted on importance on Information Security in an organisation since the time internet has come into picture.
“How organizations manage their capital today will define their competitive position tomorrow”. Through this statement, he emphasized upon Transaction Advisory Services of an organisation which basically refers to the process of reviewing and analyzing current financial transactions from a critical risk analysis standpoint. This type of review is done in order to discover issues within the business that are preventing or hindering the ability to skilfully manage finances and capital.
By providing knowledge about work in an organisation, he then sharpened students’ mind by sharing tips to handle such balance. End of session was observed as Question-Answers round. MBA colleges mostly have diversity of students ranging from freshers to laterals. Taking this point into consideration, he focused on hierarchy of job profiles available to various students. Adding to this point, he explained an important thing to freshers for having their first ever job
experience.-“Bother about learning not earning”. In this way students were getting their concepts cleared by asking their queries.
Lastly, he also talked about “Foundation of Team Matrix”, “Concept of self-managed Team Matrix”. Adding to this point, he said how Team Matrix & its events such as “CSAM” really helped students to learn more about cyber security. He was overwhelmed by knowing “CSAM” event being organised nicely each and every year.
