3rd Day Began….
With points in hand, seniors added more points to their kitty by remarkably winning both cricket and nail-biting football matches.
Independence Cup has taken its roots in such a way that it has created excitement not only among the players to perform extra-ordinary well but also among the staff of SCIT who embarked 3rd Day with an amazing performance prior to A Senior Vs. D Junior Cricket Match. With full preparation and support from the crowds, the players from both the teams came on the ground and made up their mind to give their best performances. After winning the toss and choosing to bat, the seniors eyed a high target against juniors. However, the juniors didn’t let themselves behind and fielded well in the starting overs which resulted in few runs being scored. But as it is the game of cricket, it has the quality of turning cards at any point, so was seen in the middle over of this match when 24 runs were added with 4 sixes which raised the target to 62 runs. With few balls in hand, chasing a high target was difficult for juniors in the start of the match but it seemed impossible when they started losing wickets very early and at last they lose by 30 runs. The second match of the day A Junior Vs. D Senior started with A Junior batting first and this time after losing one match, the team knew how important it was to win this match. However, the batsmen didn’t have any answer to the awesome fielding by seniors who bowled out juniors in 25 runs. Seniors didn’t need to put any extra efforts to chase the target and easily won the match by 9 wickets.
The first part of the evening belonged to the seniors, now juniors decided to have the second part in favour of them and with that enthusiasm, football match started between C Senior Vs. B Junior. Both of the teams played really well in the first half of the match and managed to keep a score of 0-0. As the second half started, the seniors scored a goal which increased pressure among the juniors as well as among their supporters. However, the crowd started cheering up aloud when juniors also scored a goal and brought the score 1-1.With only 5 minutes left, when all had just thought that this match will end up in a tie, seniors proved it wrong by scoring a penalty goal and thus won the match by 2-1.The second match between C Junior Vs. B Senior was the most interesting match seen so far. Both the teams played in such a way that they made sure if goal is not scored, they didn’t let the opponent to score a goal. But there came the game changer Senior Yusuke Tamura who scored a goal in the second half and in this way seniors won by 1-0.
Now, the juniors will target to win tomorrow’s matches to keep the hopes alive whereas seniors will try their best to continue with the same spirit and win more number of matches. As any sport is unpredictable, no one knows what tomorrow may bring. So just,
Support your team members!!! Hope for the BEST TO HAPPEN!!!
