Interaction on Information Security
SCIT arranged an amazing guest lecture as well as interaction session with Suresh Iyer, CEO, Cyraacs on 28th August 2018. The speaker of the guest lecture started his lecture with basic recent trends in information security domain. He covered Gartner predictions and implications of various technologies in the cyber security world. He also spoke on how disruption provokes technological breakthrough. He cited different industry projects and elaborated multiple dimensions of risk management. He made session interesting by conducting simple tasks aiming self-comprehension of concepts. He also focused on the evolution of security posture in the organisations. Anti-viruses are becoming obsolete and advanced intrusion prevention systems, AI enabled technologies and data analytics are changing the dynamics of the industry. Speaker also addressed questions various queries raised by students. He clearly explained the BCP-DR concepts and industry perspective for dealing incidences. Answering the questions, he also addressed the regulatory risks, their impact and recent changes. This interesting interaction covered various aspects and trends of information security domain, surely resulting in better understanding of concepts as well as industry perspective.
