Hindi-English Learning Session for Japanese participants
न चोरहार्यं न च राजहार्यं न भ्रातृभ्राज्यं न च भारकारि।
व्यये कृते वर्धत एव नित्यं विद्याधनं सर्वधनप्रधानम्॥
“It (knowledge) cannot be stolen by a thief.
It (knowledge) cannot taken away by a King.
It (knowledge) cannot be divided among brothers.
It (knowledge) does not cause load. It always increses when spent.
The wealth of knowledge is the greatest of all wealths.”
The Cultural Team mustered up the survival kit for our Japanese buddies – the kit included flash cards of Hindi-English translations. The flash cards had words which would help them while they were commuting, some Hindi pleasantries and formalities, some bargaining techniques and a Hindi song. Hindi being widely used and understood by people around Pune, this session would help them in many ways. A general observation (by me) is that Japanese people have a good grasping power when it comes to languages. They all greet us with a warm “Namaste” when we meet them which show that things we taught them are put to good use. Cultural team and buddies will help them improve as days go along and make their stay comfortable. Thanks to Sadhana Ma’am and entire buddy program team to help us share our knowledge
