Alumni Student Interaction

The Alumni Relations Committee of SCIT organized an alumni-student interaction on July 23, 2023, with Mr. Vineet Chandra at the SIC auditorium. Mr. Vineet Chandra is a Product Manager at IBM Consulting.

Mr. Vineet Chandra belongs to the batch of MBA ITBM- 2012-14. After passing out from SCIT, he worked as an Information Security Consultant with Tech Mahindra Business Services for two years. After that, he joined Black Box Limited ( formerly AGC Networks Ltd) as a Senior Consultant for nine months before joining IBM Consulting, where he has been working for six years now.

Srushti, a senior member of the Alumni Relation Committee, took the interview. The conversation started with Srushti asking our alum about the career opportunities in ITBM. Mr. Vineet Chandra elaborated on the question that ITBM is an evolving field, technology can come and go, but IT is an ever-evolving field. He further said that incident management is critical. Elaborating on that, he added that the moment an incident is identified, it needs to be isolated, and immediate action is required.

When asked about his campus life, he said he enjoyed the night straws at night the most. He further shared his experience of being a member of ITELF, the entrepreneurial cell, and the importance of being part of a committee, as it teaches you various skills that will help you in the future.

On asking about any certifications that can help the students in their careers, he suggested various government body certifications like ISACA, ISC^2, IAPP, and Cloud Security Alliance. He also stretched upon the importance of ISO 27001 – Lead Auditor Certification.

After the session, a question and answer session was held where Mr. Vineet Chandra answered all the questions. The MC of the session, Rashika, thanked Dr. SVK Bharathi for organizing the session.
