Match Fixing-A Global Phenomena
Match fixing is the arranging in advance of the outcome of a match, or of events within that match, usually for the purpose of making money, often from betting.
In organized sports, match fixing occurs as a match is played to a completely or partially pre-determined result, violating the rules of the game and often the law.
Match fixing is an offence and it’s after effects on the game are devastating and can lead to complete downfall of the game. People watch the match because of the curiosity of what will happen next; it is this sense of curious excitement that attracts and hold them to the game but if this authenticity is lost then it is obvious that the game will soon lose its pride and people’s interest. Match fixing is against the spirit of the game. It is just a give up before the start of play. Therefore players involving in such activities must be life banned as such crimes have an everlasting influence on the game’s credibility.
