Pongal Celebrations 2023 :
The Pongal celebrations at Symbiosis Infotech campus on Thursday, January 12th, 2023 were a grand affair that brought together students, faculty, and staff in a spirit of unity and celebration. The festival of Pongal, which marks the beginning of the harvest season, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor by the students and faculty at the campus.
The celebrations began at 9:00 AM with a traditional Pongal Pooja held in the Atrium. The pooja was performed by the students and was followed by the distribution of Pongal, a sweet dish made from rice and lentils, among the students and faculty.
After the pooja, students, faculty and staff gathered for a delicious Pongal feast at the SIC mess. The feast was a grand affair and included a variety of traditional South Indian dishes.
Later in the evening, the campus came alive with the sounds of music and dance as students participated in a Rangoli competition near B hostel at 5:00 PM. The competition was a showcase of the students’ artistic skills as they created intricate and colorful designs using a variety of materials.
At 6:00 PM, Cultural events were held in the Amphi theater. The events included singing, dancing, and instrumental performances by the students. The students showcased their talents and put up a wonderful show.
The day’s celebrations came to a climax with the Tug of War competition held at the SIC sports arena. The competition was fierce, and the winners were awarded gifts.
Overall, the Pongal celebrations are a perfect blend of tradition, culture, and modernity, and provide an opportunity for students to come together and celebrate the joys of the harvest season.
