Future-Proof Your Career: Turning Innovation into Reality with Mr. Rajeev John

The Guest Lecture Committee recently organized a lecture featuring Mr. Rajeev John. The topic was “Future-Proof Your Career: Turning Innovations into Reality”. Pranav Nadagoud, a member of the Guest Lecture Committee, introduced Mr. Rajeev John and provided a brief overview of his background.

Mr. John provided insights into the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on Generative AI (GenAI) and its implications for the future of work.

Mr. John explained,” What is the difference between AI and GenAI?” highlighting that GenAI is a large language model (LLM) capable of generating content and understanding complex prompts. He emphasized the importance of GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformers) in driving AI advancements and discussed concerns about the possibility of GenAI replacing jobs. However, he assured the audience that technology, when used correctly, would create more opportunities rather than replace human roles. “When Gen AI becomes as smart as a human is what you call a singularity, which Elon Musk and others talked about”.

The discussion touched on various aspects of AI, including smart infrastructure, automation, and the potential of AI to revolutionize industries like e-commerce and manufacturing. Mr. John also delved into responsible AI, discussing its ethical implications and the importance of AI governance.” It’s always a recommendation to put humans in the loop”.

He concluded the lecture by talking about the future of AI in cybersecurity, the role of Microsoft Copilot in code generation, and the emerging roles in the AI field, such as AI Ethics Compliance Managers and AI Product Managers.
