What keeps you going?
Dear All
I got a forwarded email, which was about Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player, and I thought I must blog about this. Many of you might know Arthur Ashe, who was dying of Cancer which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983. It so happened that Arthur Ashe received many letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: “Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease”? The most interesting part was reading Arthur Ashe reply : He wrote “The world over, 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD ‘Why me?’, and today in pain I should not be asking GOD ‘Why me?’ I strongly feel that there is a lesson to learn from the attitude that he had.
It is said that Happiness keeps you Sweet, Trials keep you Strong, Sorrow keeps you Human, Failure keeps you humble and Success keeps you glowing, But only TRUST, FAITH and & ATTITUDE Keeps you going. I come across many in the current generation who ask “How can Faith and dreams change things!?” My submission to them is read the book “The Secret”. The Secret was a best-selling book on “self-help” written by Rhonda Byrne, based on the earlier film of the same name. It is based on the law of attraction and claims that positive thinking can create life-changing results such as increased wealth, health, and happiness. The book has sold millions of copies across the world and also has been translated into nearly 40+ languages. It also has attracted a great deal of controversy, as well as being parodied in several TV programs.
My interpretation is to this subject of “Faith” goes like this –It certainly works .I feel it certainly helps when we start with a positive attitude and good faith. Once if this is clearly set, we will be forced to constantly work in making our dreams a reality. This is a time tested phenomenon.
For all those who are joining SCIT, I can certainly claim that you have started with a positive attitude and good faith, the task ahead is to constantly work in making your dreams a reality!
