Unlocking the Power of Social Media Analytics

Organized by the Guest Lecture Committee-DSDA, the session on Social Media Analytics featured Mr. Anshu Dwivedi, Senior Development Manager at Warner Bros Discovery, sharing his vast expertise. Attendees were welcomed by Rithani Priyanka from the Guest Lecture Committee, setting the stage for an insightful lecture. With over 18 years of experience in industries like media, Industry 4.0, IoT, and data analytics, Mr. Dwivedi offered valuable insights, particularly for students eager to explore the intersection of technology and business.

Mr. Dwivedi’s impressive career includes significant contributions to Warner Bros Discovery, where he has been instrumental in developing a server-side ad insertion platform that supports millions of concurrent users globally. His expertise spans cloud computing, big data pipelines, and AI-based ad decision-making, making him a key figure in leveraging technology to drive business success.

During his lecture, Mr. Dwivedi focused on the critical role of Social Media Analytics in today’s digital era. He emphasized how social media platforms have evolved into powerful tools for understanding customer sentiments and behaviors. By analyzing data collected from these platforms, businesses can gain profound insights into brand sentiment, audience engagement, and overall consumer trends. This, in turn, helps in shaping effective social media strategies that can drive customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.

To bring his points to life, Mr. Dwivedi presented a compelling case study on Eureka Forbes: Aquaguard Water Purifier. He demonstrated how social media analytics was used to assess the brand’s after-sales service and overall brand perception across various retail websites. Through this case study, students were able to see real-world applications of the concepts discussed, including a brief glimpse into the technical code used for social media analysis.

The lecture also highlighted the impact of social media powerhouses, with Mr. Dwivedi sharing statistics that showcased the vast reach and influence of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. By the end of the session, students were equipped with a deeper understanding of how social media analytics can be a game-changer for businesses, offering them the tools to better analyze and respond to customer needs.
