Day 8 of the INDEPENDENCE CUP was quite a long day with 11 matches streamlined. It kick-started at 12 pm with a cricket match between senior boys of division B and division D. It was a fantastic performance by both the teams and the match was won by senior boys of division D. The second match of the day was also a cricket match played between senior boys of division C and junior division D boys. The toss was won by the juniors and they chose to bat first. It was an exceedingly thrilling match with elated and energetic crowd cheering up for their teams and being a continuous source of motivation for them. This match was won by the senior boys of division C. This was followed by cricket match between seniors of division A and junior division B boys. The performance of the juniors was commendable. Next match lined up was girls cricket match between division C seniors and juniors of division D. It was a scintillating performance by both the teams and an awesome showcase of girl power on the ground but the senior girls of division C took away a superb win by. This was followed by a volleyball match between seniors of division C and junior division D boys. The match was won by seniors of division C by score of 2-1 over the juniors. This was followed by another round of volleyball match between DSDA and senior boys of division A. After spectacular performance, the match was won by DSDA boys. The DSDA boys played volleyball again and this time against division D junior boys. As it’s rightly said – “The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory”, so, after a long and an engaging game division D boys seized the match. Next up was also volleyball match between division A seniors and junior division D boys. After a captivating game, the juniors won the match. This was followed by football match between senior and junior girls. After a praiseworthy play, the senior girls won the match against the juniors over penalties. It always gives us immense pleasure in reviving good old memories. Next in the row was a cricket match between ITBM batch of 2015-17 and ITBM batch of 2016-18 and 2017-19. After this jaw-dropping match students of ITBM batch 2016-18 and 2017-19 won over students of ITBM batch 2015-17. This was followed by a football match between senior boys of division A and division C. The seniors of division C seized the match and came out victorious against division A senior boys by 1-0. The ultimate football match of the day was played between DSDA and division D junior boys. It ended with terrific win over division D boys by 4-0.
Day 8 was full of energy and enthusiasm. It’s not necessary to win always. Champions keep learning, practicing and strive to do better every time. Let’s keep spirit of Independence Cup high on the upcoming days as well.
