Every year Team Matrix organises a remarkable event called CSAM – Cyber Security Awareness Month. This year CSAM was organised on 24th September 2017 in association with ISACA foundation. The event began with Ignition of Lamp and Saraswati Vandana in presence of Dr. Dhanya Pramod (Director, SCIT) and honourable guests. Inaugural speech of CSAM’17 was given by Mr. Pankajj Ghode (Chairman, Global Block Chain Foundation). He gave an amazing speech on Cyber Intelligence and also shared some very important updates in information security domain. In subsequent discourse, Mr. Kushaagra Mehra (Solution Specialist, Smokescreen Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) gave an interesting lecture on Adversarial Thinking. After these enlightening lectures, a comprehensive panel discussion was conducted on various aspects of Information Security.

The eminent panellists included Mr. Kushaagra Mehra, Mr. Sachin Singhai (Sr. Cyber Security Resilience Evangelist), Mr. Shomiron Das Gupta (Founder, NETMONASTERY), Mrs. Rekha D. (Industry Expert), Mr. Milind Thorat (Director Information Security, Risk & Compliance), Mr. Balajee Aratha (DGM, Cummins India Ltd.), Mr. Sandeep Godbole (CISM, CISA) and Ms. Sailee Kulkarni (CSPO, Business System Analysis and Design). The discussion covered various topics like determining roadmap to improve security in an organisation, strengthening security teams to prevent security breaches at payment gateways, effective use of security techniques, cyber threat intelligence and weightage of compliance, regulatory requirements, standards & safeguards in changing threatscape. Panellist also interacted with students throughout the session and answered their questions.

After panel discussion the theatre club of SCIT, Eklavya staged a marvellous and informative play on security awareness. Then it was time for three wonderful events – Quizzich, CoverTracker and Chain Reaction 2.0. Quizzich was cyber security quiz, CoverTracker was a cyber crime scene investigation task and Chain Reaction was game of progressive riddles. Participants from different colleges came in great numbers and took part in these events. Some of the participants achieved success in solving different security awareness related problems and won the prizes accordingly. CSAM’17 was concluded with price distribution to the winners of Quizzich, CoverTracker and Chain Reaction 2.0. The event achieved a great success and the main objective of cyber security awareness was very well achieved with informative speeches, valuable panel discussion and innovative games.
