It was 9 o’clock in the morning when I arrived at the hostel D of Symbiosis campus o.5 km away from main campus on 4th of June. I filled the hostel registration form and received my room key from hostel employee. I kept my entire luggage in the room and rushed back to college to receive my temporary I-card. Thereafter, we were supposed to attend an Induction program at 11AM.
It was three years back when I left my college and as I entered the Symbiosis Infotech Campus situated in Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, I suddenly remembered many of the golden events of previous college days.
We all batch mates gathered at Symbiosis auditorium before 11AM. All new students of batch 2014-2016, some of their parents and teaching as well as non-teaching staff were present. Everyone was waiting for chief guest Mr. Abhilash Verma ( Director, Citrix). He also happens to be proud alumni of SCIT. Other dignitaries of induction program were Dr. Rajani Gupte (Vice Chancellor , SIU) , Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar (Principal Director,SIU), Dr. R. Raman (Director of SCIT) and Dr. Dhanya Pramod (Dy. Director of SCIT).
Program started with lighting of lamp by all guests present at the stage that was followed by motivational presentation by own dynamic Director Dr. Raman sir. He had many point to make explaining each with his experiments or short stories. His presentation was mesmerising one. Session moved on with short speeches by Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar and Dr. Rajani Gupte.
Everyone explained how not to get distracted to activity of lower importance and how to be focused with some examples. Everyone was motivated by their words.
Last speech was by chief guest Abhilash Verma who provided valuable insights on his experiences in industry and guided us with his points on how we may achieve our goals.
Overall induction program was good and motivating experience. This was the day on which I decided to contribute for my college as student giving 100% in every area that I can for the next two years down the line with some of my industrial experiences. On the very first day I started feeling this place as my own.
We all had lunch at college mess and returned to D hostel. Evening time was the play time. Some of us played cricket and basketball on the very first day with newly made friends. We all met once again at the cafeteria area and had informal ice breaking interaction with each other.
This was the end of day1 a truly memorable one.
