Throughout my student and professional life, I have spent all my years in Mumbai – my hometown. I was excited to come to Pune to start a new phase of my life as a post-graduate student at Symbiosis University. I came to Pune on June 2nd for the hostel registration process. The moment I stepped in to the campus, I felt a rush of adrenaline when I looked at the Symbiosis International University campus and took stock of things. This was where I would be spending my next two years.

The moment seemed so perfect – the weather was calm and serene, my roommates (who also happen to be my classmates) were warm and welcoming. It felt nice. Together, we stepped into the auditorium for our induction programme. The programme kicked-off with a short film on Symbiosis University focusing on the foundation of the institute. This was followed by another short film which gave us a glimpse of the student life at Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology.

I was enthralled by the various student engagement activities that were conducted by SCIT. After the chief guests arrived, the Saraswati Vandana ceremony was initiated with the lighting of the lamps. The lighting of the lamps was followed by and address by Dr. R. Raman, Director of SCIT, who took us through the mission and goals that the institute had in mind for us.

Dr. Raman’s address was followed by, a scintillating speech by Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director, Symbiosis Society. After that Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor, SIU took the stage and talked to us about how we should prepare ourselves for the next two years. We were also addressed by alumnus Mr. Abhilash Verma, Director Citrix who shared anecdotes from his time at the institute. The induction program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Dhyana Pramod, Deputy Director SCIT who shared her blessings and good wishes for the journey ahead.
In all, I am looking forward to new experiences, expanding my horizons, loads of fun, personal development and much more.
