Every three seconds, someone needs blood. Blood fights against infection and helps heal wounds, keeping you healthy.
In India,someone needs blood transfusion because of higher Road Traffic Accidents rates, premature babies, major
surgeries and medical emergencies requires blood, where many of the seekers suffer because of blood unavailability
at mean time, because Blood Seekers ratio is much higher as compare to the available Blood donor’s data and information
maintained.So that spread the message of “AWARENESS ON BLOOD DONATION” through health care activities held in colleges,
camp,etc to improve blood donation ratio in india.Everyone should know our responsibility for our society.For that,
primarily it starts with his own,family members,friends and secondarily to the society.
-A person can donate blood every 90 days (3 months).

Body recovers the Blood very quickly:
1)Blood plasma volume– within 24 – 48 hours
2)Red Blood Cells – in about 3 weeks
3)Platelets & White Blood Cells – within minutes

Who can donate?
1)Age: 18 – 60 years
2)Weight : > 45 kgs
3)Hemoglobin level: >12 gms/dl for men and 12.5 gms/dl for women

Female donors cannot donate blood……
1)During pregnancy
2)After delivery for one year
3)When lactating
4)During menstrual period and for 7 days there after

Male donors cannot donate blood……
1)If consumed Alcohol in the previous 24 hours

Responsibility of human being is to protect our society and keep healthy.If you donate blood then health benefits are
1)Regular donation (2-3 times a year….)
2)Lowers cholesterol
3)Lowers lipid levels
4)Decreases incidence of heart attacks, strokes
5)Donor is also eligible to receive one FREE unit of blood if needed for
Self,Spouse/ Child/ Parents, and Even friends.
