Day 6 of the SCIT Independence Cup had six matches lined up with a lot of high-intensity clashes. The day started with the first match of volleyball between Senior C Division boys and Junior Division B, where the juniors dominated the proceedings right from the first serve. With an energetic crowd on both sides, the seniors kept coming back but in the end, the efforts proved futile as Junior Division B swept off both the sets.

Match 2 saw another volleyball clash between Div. A Juniors and Div. C Juniors. The match was at once evenly poised with a set each when both the teams holding exercised their dominance with their serves. The match went on into the final set and with a good fight; Div. C Juniors went down to Div. A Juniors.

The next match on the cards was a high voltage clash. With the dominant Div. C Seniors taking on a rampant Div. D Juniors in a cricket encounter, the stage was set up for the evening. When the seniors took centre pitch to begin their innings with batting, there were loud cheers. Div. D Juniors spearhead had the ball and there were some close tight overs along with runs at one end. Over number 6, which six balls later went on to become the costliest of the lot with 34 runs hammered off it. Despite the last two overs bringing back the juniors into the game, it was always challenging to chase a target of 69. Eight overs later, after numerous dot balls, post a tight line, the seniors were ahead in the game and had won by a huge margin.

Following this, Div. A Senior took on Div. B Junior in another cricket match, with the seniors scoring a mammoth 79 off the stipulated 8 overs. Despite a cautious rate, the juniors kept trying to match the mounting run rate. At one point, a couple of sixes and fours were hit, the crowd went berserk, and the seniors did not allow the juniors to capitalize as they defeated the juniors by 15 runs.

Next up was the Girls cricket match with Div. A Senior taking on Div. C Junior. Div. C started batting and were given a hard time by the excellent bowling skills of the senior girls, with minimal extras and crucial early wickets, they were restricted to 12 runs in 8 overs. When the seniors were batting, Division C Juniors did try and put up a fight with some strong bowling, but the Senior Div. A won the match.

The last match of the day was a football encounter between Div. B Junior and Div. D Junior, which was an equally competitive contest with ball possession continually shifting from one to another side. At the end, Div. D Junior edged over Div. B Junior with 1-0 score line. With this, Day 6 came to an end, the competition is getting tougher but with increasing support and cheer from the crowd, Independence Cup is getting more and more exciting with every passing day!
