5th June, 2015, I could see my dream come true…I was standing at the gate of one of the premier business schools of India. Symbiosis centre for Information Technology, my home for the next two years.
It was our induction ceremony day. Standing there with my parents, I could very well recall the first day of my school. I was back again to student life after 2 years of IT experience. I could see the glitter at my parent’s eyes. The morning drizzle came as an added blessing as the weather was so soothing and comfortable.
Punctuality is the word that first struck me. The event began exactly at the scheduled time. Parents, students, all were excited and we took our respective seats. The function began with the lighting of the lamp, marking the beginning of a glorious and special journey. We had some of the respected speakers with us for the auspicious occasion.
Our director mam, Dr.Dhanya, shared words of wisdom about the learning in life. She spoke about the basic values, which we often tend to forget and ignore, but those values hold sky-high importance in a student’s life. The one learning which was really very important in a student’s life is we should keep our hands busy, our mind empty and our hearts full. This practice will help us to go a long way in our life.
We were told the importance of time management and a short story gave the beautiful insight about the values of prioritization and the need for the same. Symbiosis offers us with an ocean of opportunities and it is thus our duty to give our 100% and absorb the best of these. Symbiosis provides us with an ideal environment to accelerate our growth as an individual as well as a team player.
We were shown a video, which clearly stated that Symbiosis is the place where academics and extra-curricular activities go hand in hand. It was a perfect blend of studies, assignments, examinations and cultural fests, seminars. These all help in developing the attitude of the students to face any challenges with their head held high.
We were told about the importance of having expertise in whatever we do. In today’s dynamic competitive world, there is no place for mediocre, expert is the key word. Positive thinking, passion and the right attitude are the three words that were stressed upon.
Last but not the least, the most important teachings from our director mam was to thank all those persons who have “tied your parachute”. We should thank all our parents, family members, friends and all those who helped our dreams soar so high in the sky.
So we were left with these words of wisdom and the ways we could utilize the next two years of our life to the fullest as sky was the limit to fulfill our dreams. I was happy as I could see the pride and satisfaction in my mother’s eye at the end of the function.
